Why Super Visa Applications Get Refused
These are the problems we see most often with families in Surrey, Delta, and the Lower Mainland:
- Income that doesn’t meet the minimum: The host must meet the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) for their family size, and the numbers must be calculated correctly.
- Wrong or incomplete insurance: The medical insurance must meet strict rules, and a simple quote isn’t enough.
- Weak invitation letter: The letter must include the host’s promise of financial support and clear details about the family.
- Doubts about the parents’ ties to home: Officers need to believe the parents will leave Canada at the end of their stay.
- Past visitor visa refusals: These don’t stop a Super Visa, but they must be disclosed and handled carefully.
- Missing medical exam: An immigration medical exam is required.
